SHELL BAY TO SWANAGE VIA AGGLESTONE [LINEAR WALK]

Take bus to Shell Bay ferry [or park at NT CP & bus back to ferry after walk]. Walk harbourside to JerryÕs Point, Redhorn Quay & StudlandHeath to Agglestone for break. Return to Swanage over Ballard Down via golf course, Obelisk, Stone Seat and Whitecliff Farm. One long gradual climb, otherwise flat walking, swampy in places after rain.

WEST LULWORTH, DAGGERS GATE AND LULWORTH COVE

Park politely and start from the bottom of Farm Lane. Walk north to Burngate Reservoir climbing 150m in three quarters of a mile. Then west along past West Down Farm and on to Daggers Gate. A little further and then drop to the South West Coast Path to go back to Lulworth Cove past Durdle Door and south of Hambury Tout. Return by the road or footpath just to east.

Meet & start from Corfe NT CP. Walk via Norden & Kilwood to Creech &  Stonehill, then climb up on to ridge for break. Return along ridge via Ridgeway Hill & Knowle Hill. One moderately steep climb. Expect sloshy mud for short stretch after Norden.

Park on Front street or New Rd Portesham. Mostly easy, 1 climb out of Abbotsbury. Splendid views, HardyÕs House, disused railway track, Hellstone and a sculpture. Option to stop for refreshment at Kings Arms Portesham.

KINGSTON, HOUNS TOUT, CHAPMANÕS POOL

Park and meet at Houns Tout walkers car park, Kingston. Follow the path through the woods and along the top of Golden Bowl valley viewing the Encombe Estate. Continue to Houns Tout. Go down some very steep steps to Chapman's Pool. This can be slippery. Take the path at the bottom to Hill Bottom, Continue up the hill which can be a little overgrown so beware if wearing shorts! Go through a gate marked "permissive path" and follow the tarmac path back to the car park.

SWANAGE TO CORFE CASTLE RAILWAY WALK

Meet at Swanage Station for a linear walk along the valley, criss-crossing the railway. Walk via Herston camp-site, Windmill Knapp, New Barn, Wilkswood Farm, Haycrafts Farm, Woodyhyde Camp-site and Sandyhills Copse. Return to Swanage by bus or train or join me for refreshments in Corfe Castle. (Those walkers coming from the Wareham direction may wish to park in Corfe Castle NT car park and catch the 09:15 No.40 bus to Swanage for start of the walk)

MORETON PLANTATION AND VILLAGE

Meet tank viewing area south of Lawrence of ArabiaÕs Cottage on Bovington Camp road. Walk north towards Throop Heath, south through Moreton Plantation mostly on gravel tracks towards River Frome, crossing ford finally reaching Moreton, the church and Lawrence of ArabiaÕs grave. We return via Bovington Heath. No stiles or very steep slopes. Some muddy and marshy areas.

WORTH MATRAVERS & HILL BOTTOM CIRCULAR

Meet at Worth Matravers car park. Go to coast via Weston farm and footpath next to quarry emerging on coastal path at bottom of EmmettÕs Hill. Go north on coastal path climbing EmmettÕs Hill (+/- 200 steps) returning to Worth via Hill Bottom. There are 4 or 5 stiles on the walk. Leader will head to Square & Compass after the walk everyone is welcome to join him.
