PAMPHILL BLUEBELL WALK

Meet at Pamphill Common car park opposite Kingston Lacy church (signposted to the left from B3082 Wimborne to Blandford Road, just past Queen Elizabeth school) for a circular walk out via Chilbridge to King Down then return via Drove roads on the edge of the Kingston Lacy Estate and Abbott Street Bluebell woods, where the famous Pamphill bluebells should be in full bloom. Mainly level. Optional visit to Pamphill Dairy for café and farm shop at end of walk.

Park in Kingston Walkers' CP. Blashenwell, East & West Orchard Farms. Return via old barn site & Orchard Hill. Old county road and Corfe valley views. Walk includes a sunken track that is very stony and rough.

Meet and start by Kingston church. Maureen will be on 9 o'clock bus from Swanage, and Wareham bus arrives about the same time. Walk from Kingston to Hill Bottom, West Hill steps. Break at the Marine Memorial. Return via quarry path back to Kingston.

Langton Matravers to Swanage Linear

Take bus from Swanage, or park in Langton and take bus back to Langton after walk. Meet at St. George’s church in Langton Matravers and walk to coast at Dancing Ledge. Take coastal path to Swanage finishing by Mowlem centre. Steepish descent to Dancing Ledge then several climbs and descents along coastal path. Should anyone wish to come by bus to Langton from Poole direction please contact the walk leader.

NEW WALK – MINTERNE MAGNA, WESSEX RIDGEWAY

Park and start from Minterne Magna CP (free) on LHS of A352. Walk N. to East Hill, W. to Telegraph Hill, S. along Ridgeway to Hill Field Hill, Balls Hill, Buckland Hill, E. along Park Dale to Giant’s View, then N. to Up Cerne & High Cank. Outstanding views with several climbs involved.

KNOLL BEACH AND SHELL BAY, STUDLAND

Take bus to Knoll House hotel and proceed to NT Visitor Centre or travel by car to the Knoll Beach NT car park. Meet by NT Visitor Centre for a circular walk across Studland Heath to Shell Bay. Take a break at Shell Bay where toilets are available. Return to Knoll Beach along the seashore. Easy, flat walking and wonderful views.

Park & start from free high level CP overlooking Verne prison & Portland Harbour (signposted “Viewing Area, High Angle Batteries, Verne Citadel”). Route and places visited will be determined by weather & wind direction on the day. Always excellent and varied views on these walks. Mostly flat walking with some easy climbs.

ABBOTSBURY

Meet at Strangways Hall, by bus stop on B3157 (Market Square). Parking in Back Street or car park £3 off “Rodden Row”. Scenic walk, fine views over Chesil Beach, downland & Abbotsbury. Steep Climb to start, mostly easy walking, few stiles. Climb up to and visit St Catherines Chapel at the end of the walk.
