WINFRITH NEWBURGH, COOMBE KEYNES, WINFRITH DROVE

Parking politely in Winfrith we will start from the Church. After leaving the village we will go east past Newburgh Dairy and then on to Coombe Keynes. We will proceed as if we were going into Lulworth Castle ground but turn west and walk alongside Burngate Wood. After crossing the road we will stop and rest after Belhuish Farm. (This is slightly longer than our ŇnormalÓ walk so remember to bring a snack and water). After a short ascent we will enter Winfrith Drove and walk along this sunken path back to Winfrith.

EAST CHALDON, HOLSWORTH AND UPPER COAST PATH

Start from East Chaldon free walkers CP. Road walk for 1 mile to West Chaldon then through site of medieval village of Holworth to Holworth. Turn South to join SWCP at Holworth House and follow it for 1 mile to join upper coast path near West Bottom for break. Return to East Chaldon via Chideock Farm & Bush Barrow. Mainly level walking with a long gradual climb and descent.

LONGHAM LAKES

Take turning off B3073 sign posted Hampreston. Park considerately in road near Hampreston School. (Do not park in church car park). Circular walk via Longham lakes, river Stour, Holmwood and Staplehill. Couple of stiles and maybe muddy if recent rain.

UPTON HEATH AND ROMAN ROAD

Park and meet by the main car park and toilets at Upton Country Park (charges now apply so please maximise car sharing) for a circular walk around Upton Heath taking in woodland and heath, Spectacular views over Poole Harbour. Fairly easy walking with gentle hills. Good for interesting heathland birds, if we donŐt make too much noise.

Meet at Durnford Drove CP in Langton Matravers and walk via Spywaybarn to Dancing Ledge and then east on coast path to Durlston Castle. Return on upper Durlston paths easy walking and good coastal views.

KINGSTON TO KIMMERIDGE VIA SWYRE HEAD

Meet at Sheep Pen car park Kingston (approx. 1 mile west of Kingston village). Go to coast via Swyre Head. Go west along coastal path to Kimmeridge. Back via Smedmore Hill. Long steep steps down from Swyre Head and there are also a couple of stiles. There are also ups and downs on the coastal path. Good coastal views on this walk.

SCOTLAND AND HARTLAND TRAIL

Meet and park at Scotland Farm.  A circular walk through flower meadows and along the Hartland Trail. Easy walking, with no steep slopes or stiles. Probably one wet area. Hopefully the flowers will be in bloom so meaning butterflies too. NOTE limited parking please car share.

WIMBORNE ST GILES & GUSSAGE ALL SAINTS - COUNTRYSIDE WALK

Meet at Wimborne St Giles Village Hall and Post Office car park just north of village centre (free parking). Limited parking so car share please. Alternate parking at village centre. Countryside walk - mostly level with some easy hills. Stop for lunch break at The Drovers Inn in Gussage All Saints.

After the walk - Suggest visit to Wimborne St Giles church, then short drive to Knowlton Church (remains of) and Earthworks - English Heritage site at grid SU 023 102, BH21 5AE, 2.5 miles away on the route home (free entry).

SUTTON POYNTZ & WHITE HORSE HILL

Start in Church Lane, Osmington, 600m down the lane from the main road near the 2nd walk signpost. Park on the road. Walk to picturesque Sutton Poyntz and up to White Horse Hill to look down on George III with great views of Weymouth and Portland Bill. Return via Pixon Barn.
