EAST CREECH / CHURCH KNOWLE Figure of 8

Meet at Corfe Castle NT Trust Car Park for a walk along the chalk ridge and through clay vales with some outstanding views. Two challenging climbs. Focal point of Figure of 8 is Mary Baxter memorial Stone (SY 936 823). Out via chalk ridge, Cocknowle and Stonehill Down Nature Reserve. Return via East Creech, back over chalk ridge to Church Knowle then Bucknowle House and Corfe Common, returning to Corfe via West Street.

POOLE HARBOUR TRAIL WAREHAM

Park in Bestwall Rd, at end of East Street. Meet at junction with Bestwall Cresent. Lovely walk following Poole Harbour trail, including 2 lakes and alongside River Frome. Flat walk, minimum stiles. May be muddy.

BLOXWORTH, WHITEFIELD & WEST MORDEN  -  SNOWDROP WALK

Park in Bloxworth Village Hall CP on right before church (please park end on to hedge on left towards back of car park, away from the road). Walk via Woodlake, East Bloxworth, to Whitefield. Return via West Morden and Morden Lane. Gentle walk (a/d 350ft) over pasture and woodland. Several stiles. Hope to see lots of Snowdrops. Please car share to minimise number of cars.

Small donation of £1 per car to Bloxworth village hall to be collected.

DURDLE DOOR AND SWYRE HEAD

Park at the Holiday park car park (charges apply, about £5, so please car share). From here go north to NewlandÕs Farm, and up to DaggerÕs Gate. Then turn west along the ridge towards the coast and to West Bottom, then east to BatÕs Head and Swyre Head on the coast path. Return via Scratchy Bottom and back to the holiday park. Excellent views but steep climbs near cliff edges at times.

Park & meet at Tyneham CP (fee). Walk to Worbarrow Bay, then east along coast path taking upper path at Tyneham Cap to Steeple Leeze Farm and return via valley route through Lutton and North Egliston. Mainly flat walking with one long steady moderate climb followed by a sloshy descent.

Branksome Chine, Coy Pond, Bourne Stream, SEAFRONT

Meet and start from car park at base of Branksome Chine. No 50 bus from Swanage at 09:25 or from Bournemouth Square at 09:49, or £2 to park. Walk up Branksome Chine, then roads to Coy Pond past viaducts, then down Bourne stream / Bournemouth Gardens to seafront, and back along promenade to start point. Easy walk, no steep hills. Return buses at 14:02 or 15:02 to Swanage, or at 14:05 or 15:05 to Bournemouth.

KNITSON, NINE BARROW AND VALLEY WALK

Meet with parking available in our yard at Dairy Cottage for 10 cars. Walk up to Nine Barrow towards ariel mast above Corfe, down through Little Woolgarston and across A351 and onto Woodyhyde and Wilkswood. Back across Valley Road and up to Knitson Farm. All welcome to come back for a cuppa and cake. Hill at start and across valley and back to Knitson, and stiles.

New 'Oilwell' Walk

Park & meet at Scotland Farm. Walk via Wytch Heath, Rempstone Heath, Shotover Heath to Wytch Farm and Sharford Bridge. Flat walking, some on very quiet roads, with some fine views across Poole Harbour. Could be sloshy in places after heavy rain.

STOBOROUGH HEATH CIRCULAR

Park at Sunnyside Farm CP on South side of Stoborough to Arne road beyond Ridge. Walk along old tramway to Imerys Clay Works at Furzebrook. Thence via Creech and Stoborough Heaths to Stoborough village. Then follow Melancholy Lane to New Lane and return to CP across field path.
