Townsend Nature Reserve and Durlston
Park and meet at junction Bon Accord Road / Russel
Ave in Swanage. Walk through Townsend Nature
Reserve, head South through Durlston Country Park
to SW coast path. Head East to the castle, break
here. Continue on path to Belle Vue road and back
to start point on pavement.

Take bus to Knoll House hotel and proceed to NT Visitor Centre, or by car to
Knoll Beach NT car park. Meet by Visitor Centre for walk across Studland Heath to Shell Bay. Take a break at Shell Bay
where toilets are available. Return to Knoll Beach along seashore. Easy, flat
walking and nice views.

Christmas LUNCH PRECEDED BY WALK
Walk starts at
10:00. Lunch at 12:00 for 12:30.
This yearÕs Christmas lunch will be held at the Isle of Purbeck Golf Club.
The lunch will be preceded by a 4/5 mile walk over Godlingston Heath starting from Golf Club car park on a
circular route via Greenlands Farm. If it is
raining significantly on the day, the walk will be cancelled.
Please note:- Changing rooms are available at the
golf club. However out of the respect of the Golf Club I suggest that muddy
boots be left in your car or car share (But please do have respect for your
lift provider!)

09:09. If anyone is coming from Poole/Wareham direction please let leader
know so that he waits for bus. Meet at Kingston Church (St James). Go to
Worth Matravers via Hill Bottom and then follow
Priests Way back to Swanage. No steep ascents or
descents but a few stiles on path to Worth.

ARNE NATURE RESERVE AND SHIPSTAL POINT (RSPB)
Meet at Arne Visitor Centre. Parking £5 or free for RSPB members, so please
car share. Dogs allowed but must be on a lead. Walk will be in two parts, a
figure of eight centred on the car park. Shipstal
Point Trail (2.7 miles) with views over Poole Harbour and islands, then
Coombe Heath Trail (1.8 miles). Will stop at bird hides and viewpoints. Easy
mostly level walk with no stiles. Mix of heathland, farmland, woods and
seashore.
Weather permitting we will bring some mince
pies and sherry to celebrate Christmas at the mid point of the walk
where there are tables and chairs.

CHURCH KNOWLE, COCKNOWLE AND KIMMERIDGE
Meet at Sheeps Pen car park, Kingston (1 mile west of Kingston
church). Across fields to Animal Sanctuary in Church Knowle.
Up through Cocknowle to pick up ridge. Down close
to Whiteway Farm on towards Kimmeridge.
Back along Smedmore Hill to car park. Hills either
side of the valley and stiles. Stoney muddy route
between fields. Two climbs and stiles.
