Kimmeridge to Swyre Head, Houns
Tout circular
Meet and park at the disused Quarry Car Park just before Kimmeridge.
Short steady incline up to Smedmore ridge, then
reasonably flat to Swyre Head. Walk inland and
along the lane, then out to Houns Tout headland.
Steep path down to the coast, which may be slippery if thereÕs been any rain.
Several sets of steps, both down & up, including the steep descent from Clavell Tower down to Kimmeridge.
We will have a couple of picnic stops, including at the Wild Seas Centre just
before Kimmeridge beach, and depending on the speed
at which the group walks. Ice creams & other refreshments available in Kimmeridge village, before a steep climb up through the
churchyard, field and back to the quarry. 4 stiles along the route, which is
hilly and fairly strenuous in places, but beautiful coastal views and baby
lambs along the way!
